What is the overall team goal?
As a team, our primary goal is to serve those in need. To accomplish this, as individuals and as a team, we need to be prepared to face whatever situation may arise. In this effort, we focus on personal and team training. Each individual must determine how he or she should personally prepare for missions. Team training takes place on a regular basis, focusing on both general and specific tasks.

How much time am I dedicating?
The time dedicated to the team can be best divided into four general categories; these include meetings, training, personal preparedness, and missions.

Rim SAR holds one business meeting each month. This meeting is held on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30PM in the Twin Peaks courtroom. During these meetings team business is discussed and announcements are made. Typically they last 2 hours. They not only give you a chance to know what is going on in the county, but also allow for a time to fraternize with fellow team mebers. Other meetings, such as the county-wide SAR Council, are periodically held, however your attendance as a lay member is not required.

Perhaps the greatest dedication of time is involved in training. As a team, out primary goal is to serve those in need. To accomplish this, as individuals and as a team, we need to be prepared to face whatever situation may arise. In this effort, we focus on personal and team training. In this effort, we focus on both personnal and team training. The team holds its team training on the third Saturday of each month. The particular activities vary, but the training starts at 8:00AM and end at 5:00PM. Training events vary from fitness hikes, Electronic Locator Transmitter(ELT) training, vehicle and man tracking, area familiarization, rope and technical equipment training, navigation, and at times we hold overnight training events. Additionally, our team strives to maintain a certain standard of ropes awareness. This is training is held once a month and participation is not required, but encouraged.

Beyond team training, the county provides many mandatory and optional training events including a basic search and rescue(BSAR) course, an emergency operation course(EVOC), personal vertical(rope) skills (PVS),
