Welcome to Rim of the World Search and Rescue
The Rim of the World Search and Rescue team(Rim SAR) consists of exceptional men and women who volunteer their time, talents, and energy to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department in a wide range of efforts, including the locating and rescuing of fellow community members and mountain visitors. Rim SAR also assists the Sheriff's Department in emergency situations such as fires and earthquakes as well as body recoveries and evidence searches.
While volunteering with a search and rescue team can result in the most fulfilling experiences of your life, a great deal of personal, financial and family sacrifice is involved. The purpose of this website is to orient you to the degree of sacrifice expected of Rim SAR team members. We invite you to review this website personally and with those close to you and determine if this is the degree of service that you are willing to dedicate at this time of your life. Should you have any questions while reviewing this website, feel free to contact the team commander or other team members.
